Social Work – Toward the elderly
The Sisterhood and V-woman have taken a word of faith, love and care to the elderly. In this time of life, it’s common for seniors to lack the attention of friends and family. Their physical capabilities become more limited because of their advancement in age, and more frequently they experience a slowing down of movements and strength.
During this phase, it’s common for society, as family, to see the senior citizen as someone who doesn’t add anything to the world but lacks purpose.
The simple act of listening, smiling, and hugging are so important to seniors, as the message of faith renews their strength. They should be esteemed by society for their experience and receive respect and admiration.
Some who see us for the first time don’t understand how a group of “girls” could be interested in people who have no family relationship to them. Since many of them have been abandoned there, they adopt us as their new nieces, some even become very emotional with the work we do and even cry.
